Becoming Our Client

Husky Communications works with a select number of organizations each academic year, from early November through mid-May. We perform the communications work at no charge.

An ideal client can benefit from a strategic communications plan to meet their business objectives. Also, the client is able to meet weekly with the student team performing the project. Preference is given to mission-driven organizations whom we can support in their work. 

We interview potential clients during the summer and finalize selections prior to the start of the school year.

How We Work With Clients

Students form the account team that will perform your communications project. Instructors with industry backgrounds serve as coaches and mentors to the students.

The key to success is the ongoing communication between you as the client and the account team. Weekly collaboration involves some combination of online meetings, use of such tools as Slack, email, and phone calls, based on your preferences.

You can expect a major deliverable each quarter of the way through the engagement. These can include a public relations research report, a strategic communications plan, key communications content, and handoff materials to continue the work begun by Husky Communications.
