What is an experiential learning engagement with Husky Media Lab like?

It starts with a mission-driven organization anywhere in the world bringing us a challenge. Is, for example, the organization’s website telling the story of its brand? Are new employees being trained effectively? Do its social media channels reach the right audiences?

Have questions?

How does the process work?
Guided by an instructor with years of practical experience, a student account team then engages in discovery with the client. The team analyze the situation, ask questions, test assumptions, and come up with recommendations that can be acted upon. The learning is multi-dimensional: students interacting with instructors, sponsors, and other students.
How long does a project last?

Projects typically are completed over a 9-10 week period during the fall, winter, and spring quarters.

What is the time commitment?

Sponsoring organizations should allocate one hour a week for 9-10 weeks.

Can the project be done virtually?

Yes, all consulting projects are conducted virtually.

What are the ingredients of a successful project engagement?

Projects represent a learning opportunity for both the student consulting team and the sponsoring organization. Sound research, openness to new ideas and approaches, candid give-and-take are all ingredients in this learning experience.

What types of communication challenges does Husky Media Lab address?

Student consulting teams can assist with a wide range of communication challenges, including public relations, social media, communication strategy, and marketing communication.
